Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
As you can see, we’ve added a new section to our website to make it easier to share updates with you all. Between this News section, our social media accounts (follow @EastOrangeRCA on Instagram and Facebook!) and the website as a whole, helping you navigate all of our programming has never been easier!
The first update we’d like to share is the announcement of our Middle School Martin Luther King Jr Day Creative Arts Contest! The contest is currently live and the deadline to submit is January 23, with winners announced on January 27.
Here are the rules for the contest:
- Contest is reserved for East Orange middle school students (grades 6-8)
- All submissions must be the student’s original creation
- Name and grade must be written on description
- Artwork must be either a copy of digital art piece or photo of physical piece, accompanied by a description of your piece (one page or less)
- Spoken word/poem: must submit a video performing the piece (3 mins or less in length); Words from piece, along with written description, must also be submitted
- All artwork photos, spoken word/poem, videos, and written documents must be submitted using the QR code below
- Only ONE entry per student
- Entries will not be returned
Submitting is a two-step process:
1) Fill out the 2025 MLK, Jr. Day Contest Submission Form. Ensure all required fields are completed before proceeding.
2) Upload your files on the File Upload Page.
