The Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all East Orange residents through active, healthy lifestyles and by providing a variety of safe, inclusive, and enriching experiences for all ages and abilities. We are thrilled to have you visit our website where we aim to provide you with all the information you need to make the most of the recreational and cultural programming we offer in our vibrant city. East Orange is well known for its friendly sports competitions, and we have numerous teams, leagues and individual play for children, teens, adults, and seniors! Our outdoor concerts, festivals, and cultural programs highlight the great diversity of our community, and we love showing off that special E.O. pride during our traditional annual events such as the Independence Day Spectacular and Holiday Tree Lighting or new, emerging events like our Juneteenth Celebration, “Soul in the City” and Jazz at the Plaza summer music series.
We are proud to boast 6 parks equipped with Wi-Fi and plenty of amenities, including an outdoor fitness circuit gym, skate park, spray parks, tennis courts, basketball courts, multi-purpose playing fields, and ADA-accessible playground equipment. Whether this is your home or you are here for a short visit, we encourage you to experience East Orange again and again.
